MEMBERSHIP & SUPPORT
Membership
The TAL is open to everyone from the artists to the supporters of the arts. Annual membership currently exceeds 350 individuals. For over 50 years, the TAL has welcomed visual artists ranging from new and emerging artists to professionals. As a member of the TAL, you will receive a monthly newsletter, discounts on classes and workshops, monthly exhibiting opportunities, and a unique opportunity for novices and professionals to develop a dynamic synergy.
As a TAL volunteer, you can have fun and support the local artist community by contributing to the diverse opportunities at the TAL. Since 1954, the TAL members have given their time and energy to promote the appreciation, education and creation of art in our community. What a great way to meet and make new friends with other artists and art lovers.
Volunteer commitments vary from one-time events and short-term projects to long-term regular involvement.
Support
The TAL is one of Tennessee's oldest visual arts organizations. As a 501(c)(3) non-profit visual arts membership and service organization and a 509(a)(1) public charity, the TAL is committed to providing exhibition and educational opportunities for artists, patrons, and the public.
Over the past 53 years, the TAL has provided a continuous level of service due to the generous operating support of the Metro Arts Council, Tennessee Arts Commission, The Community Foundation, and Friends of TAL, as well as the income we derive from membership dues, class registrations fees, and the commissions received from sales of members' artwork.
Your generous support insures the continuation of developing new and dynamic opportunities to expand our programing in the community. This process depends on the donations and other investments of those who share our vision of the arts in our community.
Please check with your accountant as your contribution may be tax deductible. The Tennessee Art League is considered a non-profit under Section 501(c)(3) and a public charity under Section 509(a)(1) and 170(b)(1)(A)(vi) of the Internal Revenue Code.
